The piece of work I’m most proud of. The Real Bag of Shake was done entirely in Ableton Live — I was experimenting with chopped-up medleys (a nod to being a big fan of DJ King of Cuts back in the day) and always trying something new with each mix. This was right as dubstep was arriving stateside, so I had a lot of fun weaving it together with breaks, and closing out with abz’s “Cylinder.”
Everything on this mix has a very deep meaning to me — it acts as a kind of personal journal from those years. Thanks to Josh and Ezugo for the voice acting, and to Go Media for the incredible design.
